How to Buy a Suppressor in Five Easy Steps
1. Choose Your Suppressor

2. Select an FFL
Suppressors are regulated by the ATF as an NFA (National Firearms Act) item and cannot be shipped directly to your home address. Whisperteck will ship your suppressor to a gun store that is authorized by the ATF to accept NFA items and complete the necessary paperwork to transfer the item to you.
At checkout, use our FFL Locator to search by zip code and select your favorite nearby gun store to handle the NFA transfer. If you don’t see your preferred gun store, you can manually add the store name and address and we will contact them to confirm they accept NFA transfers.
We will ship your Whisperteck suppressor to this location as soon as the ATF has approved the NFA transfer and the Cerakote process has been completed.
3. Complete Your Form 4
You’ll receive an email with a tracking number when your suppressor has been shipped. Your selected gun store will contact you once they receive your suppressor.
You will need to visit your selected gun store in person to complete the required Form 4 paperwork for the ATF. This includes having your picture and fingerprints taken, as well as paying for the tax stamp and any NFA transfer fees assessed by your selected FFL.
The tax stamp is $200 until the end of 2025. On January 1, 2026, it will be reduced to $0.
NFA transfer fees can be as much as $100. Please contact your selected gun store to confirm the exact amount.
4. Wait for Approval
The ATF will complete a thorough background check to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws.
Approval times vary from several days to several months. Your Whisperteck suppressor will be securely held by your selected gun store during this time.
If your selected gun store has a range, they may allow you to access and use your suppressor during this waiting period. Please contact your selected gun store to confirm their policy.
5. Take It Home and Shoot Suppressed!
Your selected gun store will let you know when your tax stamp has been approved.
You can finally pick up your Whisperteck suppressor and start to experience shooting like a pro, with less noise and more control.
